We released another great restaurant web design under our Taste Trend offering last week.  Shorewood Bar & Grill in Fridley, Minnesota opened in the fall of 2009 and now has a new website.

Dec 05 / Five Technology Client Appears On WCCO-TV

by Aaron Weiche

Rear Window Media, a Five Technology client was featured on WCCO news for their mobile digital advertising service.  While the story played to the “controversial” angle of vehicles displaying ads, we’re excited for our client’s exposure of their unique advertising service.

WCCO doesn’t offer a video embed, click here for the video.

Five Technology worked with Rear Window Media’s President Jessica Netter and created both the web design and an extensive web application that runs the Rear Window advertising management.  Rear Window clients can manage ad rotations, budget and track their advertising with GPS mapping right from an online account. We’ll post more on the Rear Window Project in a future blog post.

How valuable for an advertiser to know exactly what spot on Interstate 94 or what block in downtown Minneapolis their ad was displayed? Sounds like smarter marketing to me.

Check out the video, you’ll see the Five Technology logo in a few shots as we have some ads on their network.

Regardless of the service being controversial or not, Rear Window has seen a significant spike in both drivers wanting to use the service and advertisers for their network since the story aired. Any publicity is often good publicity, no matter how the story is spun.

Congrats Rear Window!  http://www.rearwindowmedia.com

Nov 30 / Non-Profit Web Design Project Lets Five Give Back

by Aaron Weiche

One of our latest web design projects was 100% donated by the Five Technology staff to a local non-profit in Wright County.

The Community Health Foundation of Wright County was in need of a better web design and platform to communicate their projects and causes, events and how to get involved.

In addition to the redesign of the website, it now runs on a content management system allowing the CHF to easily update and grow their web presence themselves.  The ability to add information and photos from their events and projects gives the CHF stronger communication with the communities they serve.

Five Technology is happy to launch this new website, not only powered by great web technology, but a giving employee spirit.  Five has donated over $15,000 in projects the last 2 years to local non-profits including causes supporting breast cancer patients and local food shelves.

Nov 16 / Talking Social Media With Community Banks

by Aaron Weiche

I had the opportunity to talk about social media with members of the Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota on November 12th. We discussed how community banks could utilize Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other social media platforms to connect and communicate with their customers and prospects.

The events other presenter, Cindy Cofer Evert offered great insight and tips on press releases and PR.  Her info made for great web content ideas and distribution via a business blog. The group was very interested in Internet marketing, engaged and had great questions following my presentation.  Below is my slide deck from my social media talk.

Thank you to the ICBM for having me, it was a great event.

Thanks to @jonasPK of ICBM for the photos.

Jul 22 / New Web Design Project For The Mental Health Association Of Minnesota

by Aaron Weiche

Five Technology is excited to announce the release of the new website for the Mental Health Association of Minnesota (MHAM).  This non-profit was the state’s first mental health advocacy and education organization founded in 1939.

MHAM works to meet the needs of the mental health community, respond to those needs, and work to make positive changes in the lives of individuals and in public policy.  The organization had utilized a web presence for the past 10 years, but the old website lacked many features and usability.

This Non-profit Web Design Project Included:

  • Custom web design based on their new logo & colors
  • SMC platform for full website content management
  • Blog component for news & updates from MHAM
  • Improved content structure & usability
  • Search engine friendly design & search engine optimization
  • User account management for interactive & communication features
  • Discussion board integration
  • 3rd Party donation solution

One of MHAM’s biggest desires was to create an easy to use interface/account for their community to interact with each other and become aware of the organization’s offerings.  Five created myMHAM and gave users the ability to easily create an account that allows them to interact on the message board, comment on mental health blog posts, select email list inclusions and receive the MHAM newsletter (mailed).

We’re excited about the new web design, the platform and the website features we put together in working with the MHAM staff.  We have no doubt that this new marketing and communication tool will contribute to their continued success and work within the mental health community.
