Nov 03 / Web Design Project: Brandt Automation

by Aaron Weiche

Five is excited to launch BrandtAutomation.com’s website redesign.

web design brandt

Brandt Automation is a custom equipment design/build firm in Minnesota and they started asking great questions in meeting with Five on their website redesign like:

  • Why don’t we show up in Google?
  • How do we increase the value of our website?
  • How do we generate more leads online?
  • How can we and how should we update content?

As we dug into their situation we found out that they had a lot of great automation and custom equipment experience to share, but didn’t have the right stage to showcase it. The core of Brandt’s new web design was to give them the ability to not only share their automation services and capabilities, but to promote their custom solutions. A case studies section was built to give website visitors examples of their work with photos, details, social/sharing capabilities and other helpful information.

web case study

The web project involved web strategy consulting, custom web design, the Site Management Console (cms) and search engine optimization to start increasing the ability to achieve stronger rankings from Google and Yahoo. We’re pretty pleased with the new web platform that Brandt has, so check it out.

Sep 30 / E-commerce Web Design Project: Ranchline All Natural

by Aaron Weiche

Those looking for all natural lamb meat and cuts can find great lamb packages on RanchlineAllNatural.com . Ranchline All Natural wanted an e-commerce website that not only offered the premium lamb meat from the Felix River area of New Mexico, but they wanted to offer their website visitors great lamb recipes, grilling tips and wine pairings.

ranchline web design project

You can see the web design is clean and easy to navigate around.  Many e-commerce web designs can make shopping and checking out a difficult task, so usability is always important when Five builds an e-commerce website.  The lamb product pages offer large and professional photos and specific details on the lamb cuts included in the packages.

e-commerce web design

This e-commerce website is built on our SMC content management tool that allows Ranchline to easily manage their product line, pricing, shipping options. As a reseller for Authorize.Net, we integrated their merchant account into the SMC’s checkout to automate the process for Ranchline All Natural.  The SMC also allowed us to create the site with SEO friendly URL’s and SEO friendly product pages.

Naturally, it turned out to be a fantastic web design project for us. Check it out!

by Aaron Weiche

We recently launched our 2nd donated non-profit website (see the 1st) for 2008, this time for the Lynnda Laubach Breast Cancer Awareness Ride.  This growing event offers a day of fun while raising money for the Cancer Center at Regions Hospital.  The main event is the 100 mile motorcycle ride and the evening ends with two LIVE bands and a pizza dinner in Rogers, MN.

The 4th annual event is on September 20th and you can see all of the details on the website.  Five Technology is very proud to be included as a sponsor for our web design work for the event and wish everyone a great time while supporting a great cause.

Jul 30 / Trucking Company Web Design Project Is An Oversized Success

by Aaron Weiche

Otto Transfer hauls the big things others can’t.  Giant telephone poles and other oversized loads are the common freight for Otto’s trucking and hauling services.

Owner Kevin Otto came to Five with two needs.  One was to get a professional website up and the other was to make it a valuable resource for his cusotmers and staff by adding online account management and quoting.  Kevin had tried to put up a Yahoo “do-it-yourself” website a while back and it didn’t quite cut it.  Five’s web design services went to work and created a professional, clean and branded design to show that Otto is a successful and experienced Minnesota trucking company.

Online Quoting & Account Management
Kevin’s idea to streamline quoting and account management through the website was a great idea.  Now his clients can get access to past quotes, pending quotes and submit new ones with ease.  The Otto Transfer staff can update statuses, price out quotes and take advantage of admin features that let them search similar quotes for a faster pricing process.  Easier for the customer and easier for Otto, thats a win-win.  Here are a few sample screenshots from the log-in and account management screen.

We’re pleased with the project outcome and Otto Transfer is too.  This project is a good illustration of web design and web development working to mesh a good looking design with a fantastic business tool. If you see one of their oversized loads on the highway, get out of the way.  This trucking company is going places.

If you have a business process you want to bring online, give us a holler.

Jul 21 / Feeding A Web Design Need For A Non-Profit

by Aaron Weiche

To date this year, Five Technology has donated our web design services and content management solution for two different local organizations.  The first was to the “Vote Yes” committee in Delano for their efforts in getting two school referendums passed.  The second website has just recently been released and is for the non-profit Buffalo, Minnesota Food Shelf.

After I read a local newspaper article on the challenges the food shelf was facing for 2008, I decided that helping them launch a website would improve their ability to communicate with the community to increase support and also offer their services to those in need.

Non-profit web design

While the web design and site features are very basic, the site greatly increases the food shelf’s ability to gain visibility and share their mission.  One of the fun ways to help is by golfing in their 4th Annual Green Bean Open coming up, for which you can register online.

I also want to pass along thanks to the food shelf Director Jill Ask for the time she put in to helping us gather information to pull the website together.
